rambling...

so, i still haven't heard anything about the job. seems like it may take a while since it has to hit like 3 or 4 desks before i "hopefully" get an interview! i'm just praying that the feeling i have about it is being put there by God, and that he is opening this door for me. if not, i will understand. He has a wonderful plan for me. i can't help but be a little excited about it though.

on another note, our homegroup is starting a new bible study on the book of Ruth and John Piper's "A Sweet and Bitter Providence". i'm loving it so far. what has really stood out to me thus far is knowing that God is Sovereign! he has a purpose for each of us! what i'm learning from Ruth is that God is at work in us...giving us a future and a hope. We need to trust Him. Wait patiently. "The ominous clouds are big with mercy and will break with blessing on your head." this is a wonderful promise! i'm so thankful for this. i am also thankful that God counts me righteous because of Christ, and Christ alone, because of His sacrifice. it's amazing and powerful and humbling. i love the Lord, and i pray that His purpose be fulfilled through me!

last thing...along with praying for the job thing, i'm also asking that you pray for me, and my heart. there is one thing that i've been wanting for a while now, some of you may can guess, but if not, just know it's something that i deal with everyday... i've cried about it, prayed about it, and longed for it. i just ask for prayer that God will fill this void, and that i will have faith to know it's all in His timing. thanks!
love you all,

finally...

i have finally found a background that i love that i feel looks like me! it has taken me so long, but i'm proud to say that i'm happy with this one and i will try to quit changing things so often. sorry for the lack of blogging. i thought i would be better at it that i am. i find that i find so many other things that need to be done around the house, etc, that blogging falls off my list of priorities. i will try to start doing something that my sister and other bloggers have done, which is a monthly list of 5 of their favorite things! this may be a little hard for me, but i'm willing to try it.

jacob and i have finally become members of Providence Church! we really feel like part of a family and love it! our homegroup has been amazing. we all feel like we have known each other forever, or at least the girls feel this way ;)
God has really blessed us with our church family. we couldn't be more thankful!!!!

we also spent a weekend in march in San Antonio at the Riverwalk, just the 2 of us! it was amazing and romantic and relaxing! we enjoyed a spurs game and some great food and scenery. i definitely love my husband, but it's weekends like these that i really cherish and love him more and more! my heart really needed that weekend with him!

here are a few pics of the weekend:
us at the spurs game! and they beat the cavs :)
we love the spurs, but seeing LeBron and the cavs was a treat too!

us at the alamo

a view of the riverwalk. couldn't have asked for better weather! it was gorgeous!

ok, well i hear laundry, dishes, and my bible study book calling me. better get to that!
by the way, for those of you who actually care to read my blabbing, i am asking for prayer for me. i just recently applied for a new job that is closer to home and only MWF! i'm really excited about it and the opportunity that it may present me. it's something i've never done before, but even though i may be a little scared, i feel lead to try it out as long as i'm given the chance. thanks for the prayers in advance. i'll let you know as soon as i do. love you all!

changes

i'm slowly making this blog my own and making the changes that i want to make it look like me. i've been struggling with backgrounds and templates, and fonts, etc. it will get there. i find out more and more when i research blogs. i really want to update with everything that has gone on since the last time i blogged, but it will have to wait. i guess it's not really that much anyway. so be patient. it will take me a while to get it the way i really want it! i'm starting with my customized signature. i like the look, now i have to see if it works the way i want it to!

Lately

hi all,

sorry to have neglected the blog for a while. i don't really have an excuse except for just being LIFE! like i said last post, jacob and i really had an awesome christmas and are still trying to get geared up for this new year. we are really enjoying our new church (hopefully to join after completing a membership class), and have just joined a homegroup with about 6 other couples/families. we are the one of the few that do not have any kids, yet!!! but i know we will in God's timing.

we are planning a trip in march, i say for his birthday, to San Antonio to see the Spurs and Cavaliers play!!!! we are so excited! we haven't really done anything like this since we've been married, so i'm so glad that this is something we can do together and both enjoy! we plan also on hanging out with the McFarland's in Branson at the end of July, and then hopefully either before or after, taking a trip to Pennsylvania and Massachusettes! these are 2 places i've never been, and jacob is really excited to take me and get to see his grandmother and aunts, uncles, cousins, etc.

jacob is working really hard and enjoying his job!(sometimes)! i am so blessed to have a husband who is such a hard worker and provider for our family. he is going to make such a wonderful dad someday because he really does put everyone else before himself. i can't wait for that next stage in our lives...but i need to be patient and know that God has big plans for us in His time.

duke is still growing and maturing, but will always be just a fun-loving puppy. we have been debating on whether or not to get him a boxer brother or sister, but have not been brave enough to get another dog. i think he could use the company since we are gone to work so much, but then i think of all the chaos that 2 boxer babies could cause! if we decide to, we would like to RESCUE a boxer to give a better home to and avoid that "puppy" stage that can be a nightmare. we'll keep you updated on that discussion.

anyway...that's about it for now. sorry, no new photos. but LIFE IS GOOD and ours is SUPER BLESSED!

love you all,

christmastime

i sure do love this time of year! it definitely went by too fast like always, but we were blessed to be able to spend time with both jacob's side and my side of the family! i won't write too much and get on to the pictures, but God has blessed us once again this year and i'm sure He has lots of great things planned for us in 2010!

We start off with a picture from my birthday dinner with mom & dad!

The next weekend we took our nephews Thomas & Elijah to the ICE exhibit at the Gaylord Texan!

BRRR it was sooooo COLD!!!!

Uncle Jacob took Thomas golfing at the golf course in our neighborhood!

Then we got to spend almost an entire week in Brownfield with the McFarland side!!

Then after a 9 hour drive in the snow and ice, we made it to Fort Worth to have Christmas with my family!

And I can't help but put a picture of the cutest boxer boy you will ever see! He's even become such a good dog over the past few months! Casey and Aric even like him, hahaha!

I wish I could put every picture we took up, but that might take me days! We had such an amazing Christmas and we hope God blesses each of you in the New Year!

Lots of love,
