Yummy Recipes...

We have had a lazy Saturday! The rain gave us the perfect weather to be cooped up in the house together! It was/is much needed. We stayed in our pj's all day, and Campbell even played in the rain with Daddy!

I made this soup tonight and it was sooooo good! I will definitely be making it again over this fall/winter season! I changed it a bit to what I had in the house...included a little velveeta and cream cheese, along with the shredded cheese! So yummy!

I also made these last night for dinner! Definitely a hit, and such a big recipe, I was able to freeze the majority for when we have visitors next week! I cooked the chicken in the crockpot all day with some seasoning and half a bottle of salsa verde! Definitely made the enchiladas even more yummy than just unseasoned shredded chicken or even rotisserie chicken! But the sauce was to die for! And the poblano peppers were delicious!

I wish I had taken pictures of the goodness, but didn't think about it until now....now that it's all gone!

Lately...

Just thought it was time for a little lately post...

Can you tell what we had for dinner tonight by this sweet face???

We are staying busy and my girl is into everything she can! She is climbing and loves going down the slide all by herself! She's talking and expressing herself so much more.  My mom and I just took her shoe shopping again, because she has already jumped a size and a half since July! Craziness. She has gotten 2 more teeth, one including a molar. And more are getting ready to come in. She's had a few rough nights, and usually that means teething. 

I was able to attend our women's retreat last weekend and had an amazing time. It is so nice to fellowship, worship, and just hang out with some amazing women/friends. 

We are preparing for a visit from Jacob's parents/Papa & Nini to C next week and my sister the week after. I can't wait, and neither can Campbell!

I am a little bit jealous of my parents who are on vacation this week. They flew into Jacksonville, FL, and drove to Beufort, SC...and they are going into Savannah, GA (to eat at Paula Dean's restaurant) and up and down the coast. Dad used to be stationed in Beufort, SC when he was a marine, and both of them are excited to go back. I can't wait to go there one day too! 

I'm ready for the cooler weather....come on already. It was a tease a few weeks ago, but since it's officially fall...it's time!

Campbell and I got to meet a new addition to the Ellingson clan, miss Madeline! Scott works with Jacob, and Codi and her boys are so sweet! Plus, holding that new baby kinda gave me baby fever!

 That's all I got for now. Hope you all have a great rest of the week! Today is my Friday...meaning, I'm home the rest of the week and am gonna love all that time with my girl! 

Grace

Wish I could say these are my profound words, but they aren't, but they are just the thing I needed to see/read today!

16 Months...

Miss Priss…

Today, you are 16 months old. Here are my favorite things this month:

You are hilarious. You do things that just crack yourself up, as well as everyone else around you. I get plenty of laughs in! 

I love how we stop anything that we are doing just to dance to the "Hotdog Song" on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. 

I especially love when I put you to bed at night and we sing "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" together….you just sing your little heart out…not quite sure what words you are saying, but you love to sing with momma! 

You continue to say more and more. This weekend at the lake, you said Mo and Poppy…poor Grammy and Grandpa…but Mo is so similar to no, and Poppy and puppy are very close too, and those are words you say often! 

You love to wave and say hello (heyo) and bye bye ALL THE TIME! It sure is sweet. 

This last month you have gotten your 3rd bottom tooth, and are working on the 4th. Plus, a few more I think. You have such swollen gums, and you use your finger as your teether. 

You continue to enjoy reading. I need to find you some more books with big busy and colorful pages…one we can point every little thing out! 

You love to play with your pots and pans and utensils so much more. We stir and stir and stir and then drink whatever you are making.

You have a new found love for shoes. You want to put them on yourself, and Mommy, and Daddy…and wear our shoes…

You also like to put on all pieces of clothing when Mommy is doing laundry. You just might like to put my underwear around your neck…silly girl!

Your favorite song these days besides the hotdog song, is Old MacDonald...you say EEIIOOOO...oh my gosh, cutest thing!

I love our morning cuddles…just you and me, and maybe some Mickey! 

I love your open mouth kisses! 

I also love when you put your head on my shoulder. You do it when I pick you up from daycare, when you are feeling bad, when you are tired, or sometimes just because you want to love on mommy! 

I just love you to pieces baby girl! Yes…I will continue to call you that! My heart is so full when I look at you…what a precious blessing you are!

Hair Pinspiration...

It's that time again for fall, and a slightly different hairdo. Most people won't recognize the color difference or even the cut, because it's my favorite cut, and probably will be for a long time...but just add a little curl, and it looks different. I showed her this photo...

And ended up with this...

I'm loving it! It's got some lowlights for fall, and is a little softer than it was this summer. Yay for getting time in for the salon! It's one of my favorite things!
(P.S. It will hardly ever be curled...mostly just my normal straight...but it's fun to do it occasionally)

We are so so blessed to be able to go to the lake just about anytime we want to. My Mo and Poppy have always had a lake house, ever since I can remember. I am so excited to have Campbell growing up with memories of the lake like I have always had. Here are some fun pics of my growing girl at the lake!!!
