Merry Christmas a little early...

My family would love to wish you a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! We will be in and out over the next 2 weeks! I'm so excited to have all this time off to spend with family. I don't plan on writing another post until after the holidays, but you might get lucky....oh who am I kidding? I haven't posted consistently in forever...well, there are many reasons for that...not all great excuses but some are totally worth it!

Today, Campbell and I sat in the chair almost all day with snotty noses, coughing, and just overall feeling crummy. I've had this since Monday...so I'm hoping to catch a break and have it be gone by Christmas! Crossing my fingers. My to do list is crazy and not getting done with feeling so bad, but we will figure something out. For those of you who didn't get one, or aren't on our address list, here is a virtual copy of our Christmas card! We have so much to be thankful for this year. We are beyond blessed!

Location: Sitting in the recliner, gasping on how long it's been since I last blogged...sorry

Eating: Just had a coke float, one of my weaknesses

Watching: The Voice, love the talent on this show.

Listening: Any Christmas music I can listen to during the daytime

Loving: Having my Christmas tree up, the personalized stockings up, and our outside lights on every night ;) 

Enjoying: Sleeping....haha, I haven't been feeling well lately and sleep is a great thing!

Needing: To make and order Christmas cards...I'm so behind...

Wanting: It to get cooler before Christmas... I love warm weather as much as anyone but its hard to get in the holiday spirit when it's too warm to even dress cute and wear scarves and boots.

Thinking: I've got so much Christmas shopping left to do, oh me, glad I've got some more time...

Wondering: What this next year is gonna hold...it's the last year in my 20's, and even though I feel like I'm dreading it (turning 30), I'm also ready to embrace it. It's gonna be great! 

This is a short list, the past month I've had a lot going on, yet, I haven't been able to do much. Hopefully more on this later in the month! Thanks to my few loyal readers who still check in on me! I hope to get better... :)

A Year and a Half

Well, today we have been blessed with our precious girl for a whole year and a half. It is crazy to think we have spent 18 wonderful months with her! She is just the best thing that's happened to Jacob and me....

She got a great report at Dr. G's office today...besides also having a cold...yuck. She was happy and did great with her fingerstick for her hemoglobin! No shots...triple YAY!

Campbell weighs 24lbs 15oz (78%) and is 33.3 inches tall (89%)

She is so much fun these days...well, when was she not? This is definitely a fun time with our girl learning and exploring and talking so much.

Cami still loves to read books and sing songs. She dances to music. She climbs on EVERYTHING. She loves peek a boo and hide and go seek. She LOVES her daddy so much. I get so much joy out of watching the two of them together! She still loves to go night night. She likes to say so many things...especially mommy, daddy, Duke, puppy, hot dog, night night, bubbles, ball, water, bow, shoes, mo (for milk? not sure why) Nini, Papa, Grammy (sounds like Mammy), Grandpa (sounds like Papaw), Mo & Poppy (her greats :)), teetee, and poopoo, haha...and she tries to mimick so much that we say as well. She can sign: more, please(peeeease), and thank you! My girl loves the outdoors. I hate to see what it's going to be like when it's winter...she wants to be outside all the time. She loves her wagon rides. Milk is her favorite drink. Can't pin down her favorite food. It changes so much, and she doesn't have the biggest appetite. She thinks she needs a sucker all the time...and always wants candy...dang Halloween.  She likes to sit with me when I put on my makeup and play with my brushes and things...such a girly girl! She is getting her 2nd bottom and top molars on the left side of her mouth. She wears 18-24 month clothes and size 4 diapers. She is a size 6.5-7 shoe! She is weaning to one nap a day, and I may be a little sad about that...but it's inevitable.

I could go on and on. I love this girl so much! Thanks for making me a mommy!

Pumpkin Patch Fun!

I finally got the pictures from the pumpkin patch we went to a few weeks ago with Aunt Casey and Uncle Aric. It was a lot of fun, and Campbell thoroughly enjoyed it! Crazy that this is the first year of many visiting the pumpkin patch! We went to the Big Orange Pumpkin Farm in Richardson this year because it was really close to Jacob's work, and we had lunch with daddy before we went! We went on a hayride, fed the goats, and enjoyed picking our own baby pumpkins! Campbell had this scrunched up nose face in almost every picture, but she's still so adorable! Enjoy the pics Casey took, and these are just a few...I had like 60 to choose from!

October 15

Today is Pregnancy & Infant Loss Remembrance Day---it's a struggle that 1 in 4 women have to endure...losing a baby...and I'm one of those women. It's hard to believe that this is the 3rd year I have celebrated this day. My own loss with my first pregnancy has helped me to have a deeper understanding of the broken dreams and hopes of so many women, but also a deeper appreciation of the miracle of life. I thank God everyday for giving me Campbell, and blessing our family like He has. I have such a deeper realization of how fragile life is. 

Light a candle today to remember all the babies that didn't get to meet their mommas (& vice versa) but will one day!

Sick baby...boo

So Campbell took an extra long nap yesterday, which is extremely abnormal...and woke up with 104 degree fever. She felt pretty crummy and we spent the afternoon in the chair watching Mickey... Daddy got home late and got to put her to bed. She has been willing to lay down and falling asleep fast for naps, which can be a struggle sometimes...

We went to the Dr today and she has an ear infection. We are starting antibiotics. We have had lots of tears today. She just genuinely doesn't feel good. I took her for a ride in the wagon around the block, and before we could make it home she was fussy and just ready to be back inside. It's nice and warm outside, but looks like we won't be getting out anymore today.

She has little spurts of energy, but that's about it. She tells me she is hungry, but doesn't eat much and gets cranky. May be a long few days. Pray for my girl to get better soon. I just hate having a sick baby girl.

Location: Sitting in the chair, just unloaded groceries and restocked/organized the pantry/fridge.

Eating: a handful of wasabi almonds

Drinking: just finished a fruit punch spark...more on that later on...

Watching: trying to catch up on my DVR'd shows that Jacob doesn't like to watch.

Listening: oh nothing at the moment...

Loving: The little voice Campbell has, and her cute personality! I fall more in love every single day if that is possible!

Enjoying: just sitting here, relaxing, even if it's just for a few minutes!

Needing: My girl to take better daytime naps. She has been struggling so much lately. I'm afraid this means that we are transitioning to 1 nap a day, but everyday I'm home with her she begs for a nap by 10 am.... it's really the afternoon nap that we struggle with.

Preparing: actually just started the Advocare 24 day challenge yesterday...so I have been preparing my brain for a cleanse and the challenge as well as the next step...I have a checklist helping me out! So far so good. Ask me in a few weeks :)

Wanting: To be very committed to this 24 day challenge. I think this is so good for my body, and I want to get positive results!

Thinking: How long will my girl nap? So far she has woken up 30 minutes into the nap, cried, laid back down for 10 minutes, got up and cried, and she's back down again!

Creating: I am in the process of making our front living area, Campbell's playroom. She is getting a kitchen for Christmas, and I am trying to make her her own little play spot, that is not in the middle of my living room :) My next house will have a designated play area/room for sure!

Wondering: How our little photo shoot at the pumpkin patch went with Aunt Casey, and also wondering if we can get our family photos done before it's time to order Christmas cards :) Yikes...it will be here before I know it!

Sorry if you've already seen these on my instagram...I need to be better about getting my big camera out...and hopefully we will have some fun pics from Aunt Casey soon :)

17 Months...

Wow! How are we just one month away from you being a year and a half old? Didn't you just turn ONE? This month has been kinda rough, but super sweet all the same! You, miss Campbell Grace, have 4 new teeth this month, 10 total! It's funny how the teeth on the right side of your mouth come in first. With these new teeth, and the constant runny nose, now a cough...your eating and sleeping has been waaaaay out of wack. The last few days, it seems to be getting better, so I pray we are on the tail end of things, except Mommy knows that teething lasts for a loooooonnng time.

You are just a delight to your daddy and me. I have been known to talk in my sleep, but lately I have been laughing/giggling...according to your daddy. I have a feeling, this is because you are wearing me out, but ALSO because you are hilarious and we, as a family, just laugh and laugh together. You bring us so much joy, I can't even stand it! God has so blessed us with your funny, sweet spirit!

We have been enjoying more and more time at the playground/park! The weather has been beautiful and you love to climb and play your little heart out! And go down that BIG slide...I just can't stand how big you are getting!

You love to say HI or Hello(heyo) to almost everyone. You also still wave bye bye, with the perfect pageant wave, haha!

Your favorite word these days is puppy! You wake up saying it...you love Duke and any puppy for that matter. You are such a helper to mommy by helping me feed Duke. You like to take things to the trash, and open and close doors. You help pick up your toys. But you still make a gigantic mess. And I know that won't change for a while.

I am impressed that you are matching colors and animals in your animal puzzle. You are still such a book worm, but we have such sweet moments reading with each other!

I love you, I love you, I love you!!! You are my world :)

Yummy Recipes...

We have had a lazy Saturday! The rain gave us the perfect weather to be cooped up in the house together! It was/is much needed. We stayed in our pj's all day, and Campbell even played in the rain with Daddy!

I made this soup tonight and it was sooooo good! I will definitely be making it again over this fall/winter season! I changed it a bit to what I had in the house...included a little velveeta and cream cheese, along with the shredded cheese! So yummy!

I also made these last night for dinner! Definitely a hit, and such a big recipe, I was able to freeze the majority for when we have visitors next week! I cooked the chicken in the crockpot all day with some seasoning and half a bottle of salsa verde! Definitely made the enchiladas even more yummy than just unseasoned shredded chicken or even rotisserie chicken! But the sauce was to die for! And the poblano peppers were delicious!

I wish I had taken pictures of the goodness, but didn't think about it until now....now that it's all gone!
